Wenning Guan is a violin professor and master supervisor in Tianjin Conservatory of Music. She teaches Professional Violin Performance, Performing Chamber Music, String Performance and Teaching (group lesson), etc. to middle school students, undergraduates and postgraduates. Guan received a special grant from the State Council of China in 1993. Awards presented to her include the 8th March Merit in Tianjin in 1997, Excellent Mentor in the 8th Wenhua Violin Competition held by the Ministry of Culture in 2006, and International Excellent Mentor in 2014 Hong Kong International String Competition. She is the course leader in Violin Performance under the Tianjian municipal project of Quality Curriculum and she has established a string studio under her name in the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. Currently, Guan serves as president in the Violin Professional Committee under the Tian Musician Association, and council member in China Violinist Society and China Society of Youth Violin Education under the Chinese Musicians’ Association (CMA). She has been member of the jury in various events including National Youth Violin Contest, CMA Little Golden Bell Contest, and China CCTV Piano & Violin Competition.
